The quality of the finish is far in excess of our expectations and the fitting process could not have been smoother.
Before and After
This attractive Georgian style property in Buxted had been neglected for many years prior to our client purchasing it and required extensive renovation and refurbishment.
The main building had been extended with single storey extensions and most of the timber windows and doors within this building were completely rotten and required replacement. Whilst most of the windows were timber casements, they were also considered to be a style that was inconsistent and unsympathetic to that of the main building. Most of the original sliding box sash windows could be preserved and just required repair, sanding and painting.
The work was undertaken in two phases, the front elevation first followed by the rear elevation. This is a major project which requires extensive work internally and externally and, whilst the rotten windows and doors have now been replaced and painted, there remains a significant amount of internal restoration. Having restored the exterior of the building, it is important that a regular maintenance programme is instigated. For further information about maintaining timber joinery, please refer to our Joinery Maintenance information under the About Wood tab.
